This article organizes publicly available information into a single account. Where it describes an arrest or an ongoing investigation, that reflects only one stage of criminal procedure and does not mean guilt has been established (the presumption of innocence applies). In Toulouse, southwestern France, a 54-year-old man born in Sudan was arrested on July 16, 2026 over a series of alleged sexual assaults committed on a city bus. According to local reports, between December 13, 2023 and June 4, 2026, the man repeatedly targeted young women and girls traveling alone on a bus route between the Arènes metro station and the Colomiers international high school, using a consistent method: sitting beside the victim, pressing his body against her to restrict her movement, and then touching her thighs.
At least three formal complaints were filed against him during this period, including one from a girl who was 14 years old at the time of the assault. Police were reportedly already aware of the suspect. He admitted to the facts under questioning.
Current status: Whether the case will be referred for prosecution and the full extent of any additional offenses remain unclear as of this writing. This article will be updated as further details emerge.
Other cases involving Sudanese nationals reported in France around the same period include an incident in Clermont-Ferrand in which three passersby were injured in a knife attack (related coverage).
