Mie Prefectural Police's Nabari Station announced on August 10, 2026 that it had arrested a 25-year-old man holding Chosen-seki status, unemployed and living in Moriguchi City, Osaka Prefecture, on suspicion of causing bodily injury through negligent driving without a license and violating the Road Traffic Act (failure to render aid and failure to report). According to a report by Iga Town Information YOU, he is accused of driving a passenger car without a license around 2:35 p.m. on April 29 of that year on National Route 165 in the Natsumi area of Nabari City, rear-ending a motorcycle traveling ahead of him and causing minor injury to the rider's lower back, a man in his 30s from Owariasahi City, Aichi Prefecture, then fleeing without offering assistance.
About 10 minutes later, the man is said to have caused a second collision, striking a parked kei car on a different municipal road in Nabari, and left the scene without reporting it to police.
