Aichi Prefectural Police announced on August 3, 2026 that it had arrested two Vietnamese nationals, Doan Quan Thai, 23, and Bui Xuan Thai, 21, on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act (possession for profit). According to reports by local television stations, police officers conducted a stop-and-question of the two men, who were sitting in a parked car in Nagoya; during the questioning, Doan reportedly handed something to Bui, who then fled the scene. During the pursuit, Bui dropped a supplement bag; when police examined its contents, they found white powder and tablets divided into multiple smaller packets, which tested positive for components consistent with ketamine.
