About This Site

Real Voice Japan is a curation site that introduces news which mainstream Japanese television and newspapers tend to under-report, organized independently with sources clearly cited. Rather than simply summarizing individual source articles, our editorial approach centers on adding original value in the following ways.

What Makes This Site Different

• Cross-source synthesis: For a single case or topic, we cross-reference multiple reports and public records and reorganize them chronologically or by issue. For especially interconnected topics, we also publish standalone explainer articles that step back from individual incidents and synthesize our prior coverage as a whole (browse by category).
• Ongoing tracking of prosecution outcomes: For cases first reported at the arrest or investigation stage, we continue to follow later developments such as indictment decisions and trial outcomes, and update the article to show the change explicitly (previous status → new status) once confirmed. We aim to follow cases through to their resolution rather than stopping at the initial report.
• Original editorial analysis: Each article closes with an "Editorial Perspective" section offering our own analysis of the institutional or social issues the case raises, going beyond a simple restatement of facts to connect it with the underlying policy design and comparable past cases.
• Cross-referencing official statistics: Because individual case reports do not necessarily reflect overall statistical trends, we also organize official statistics from government agencies such as Japan's National Police Agency and Ministry of Justice, with sources clearly cited, so that readers can consult both individual cases and the broader data.

Editorial Policy

• Every article links to its primary source.
• We do not republish source articles in full; each piece is built around a summary plus independent commentary and context.
• Articles involving an arrest or ongoing investigation include a note reflecting the presumption of innocence. We have no intent to unfairly disparage any individual, organization, nationality, ethnicity, or belief, and aim to provide objective, fact-based information.
